If you have a problem throwing stuff away, you will be cured after reading this book.  It focuses on the reasons we keep our stuff and how that stuff affects our lives.  Get your boxes and bags ready... you will need them!

A room by room guide that helps you organize your way through your entire home.  Lots of great stuff throughout this book, but I'm especially fond of the resource list in the appendix, which gives names and sites for all kinds of organizing products and services.

Each of the 52 tips in this book are quick and easy to apply.  I use #10, "Keep Your Bathroom Clean in Five Minutes a Day", every day.  It helps make the dreaded task of cleaning the bathroom much more bearable.  One of the main themes of this book is "clean as you go".  If you do little tasks along the way, the dirt and clutter won't have a chance to pile up and require a huge cleaning and organizing spree.  This is an "oldie but goodie" as far as books are concerned.  I highly recommend the tips and ideas in this book.

This book claims to be "The All-Time #1 Bestseller on Managing Your Work and Life".  I love the concept and hope to apply it to my life and work with my clients.  An inspiring quote from the book is:
  • Take a Minute
  • Look at Your Goals
  • Look at Your Performance
  • See if Your Behavior Matches Your Goals

In order to get a handle on our stuff, we've got to be willing to look at the reasons things got out of hand in the first place.  This author takes a look at the 6 main errors we make when trying to organize and breaks them down so we can get to the bottom of why things are the way they are.  She asks important questions that lead us in the right direction to a more organized life.  There are great tips and solutions in this book, which is a New York Times Bestseller.

#1 TIP:  "Study your environment for your natural habits and tendencies; see if you can work with rather than fight against them.  A system built in this way will be infinitely easier to maintain."
